Requests for Recreation Facility Aid and New Program Ideas
The District will evaluate requests for a new recreation program or facility from organizations or individuals that meet the qualifications listed below.
To ensure consideration, formal written requests should be submitted to the Board of Directors in late summer or early autumn, before the District finalizes its budget for the upcoming calendar year.
Eligibility Criteria
Location: The requesting organization or individual must be based within the North Fork Pool, Park, and Recreation District (NFPPRD) boundaries, which include Hotchkiss, Paonia, and Crawford.
Alignment with NFPPRD Mission: The requested project, or program must align with NFPPRD's Mission and support the goals outlined in the NFPPRD Master Plan (available on this website).
Business Registration: Any business with a Colorado office must be properly registered to operate within the State of Colorado.
Insurance Compliance: All applicable insurance requirements must be met.
Reputation and Integrity: Requests must not compromise the NFPPRD’s reputation for integrity, credibility, social responsibility, or accountability.
Prohibited Activities: The proposed mission, project, or program must not involve:
- The sale or consumption of alcohol outside designated areas,
- Illegal drug use,
- Extreme violence, or
- Any form of discrimination.
New Program Idea:

NFPPRD will supply a form to complete to describe the program or facility idea in detail, including areas or events impacted, length of proposal, dollar values, requested contribution from NFPPRD, including staff time. The program or facility idea implementation must involve minimal NFPPRD staff impact.
Requests for Grant Sponsorship, Grant Partnership, Grant Management or Grant Support
Organizations or individuals seeking grant sponsorship, partnership, management or support from the North Fork Pool, Park, and Recreation District (NFPPRD) must ensure their request aligns with NFPPRD's Mission and supports the goals outlined in the NFPPRD Master Plan (available on this website).
Requirements for Grant Sponsorship, Partnership, or Management
Formal Written Request:
- A formal written request must be submitted at least three months prior to the grant submission deadline to ask NFPPRD to sponsor, manage, or partner in the grant application process.
Grant Application Submission:
- A completed grant application, including all required attachments, must be presented to the NFPPRD Board of Directors for review and approval at least one month before the grant cycle deadline.
District’s Discretion
The NFPPRD reserves the right to approve or deny any grant-related request, as well as requests for program, project or facility aid, at its sole discretion and for any reason.
