I am very grateful to serve the NFPPRD as their Board Clerk. I feel the NFPPRD provides us with access and opportunities to the wonderful facilities that make this area such a wonderful place to live, work, and play.
I relocated my family from Chico, California (don’t hold that against me) after the Camp Fire that destroyed the neighboring town of Paradise. The outcome of that was the population surge as those displaced from neighboring towns led us to make the decision to move to a location where we can live the life and lifestyle we desired. We found the North Fork by chance, and after the first year here, we decided that we would be here to stay. The kids have flourished in this area and utilize the pool and parks every year.
Three years in, we are so committed to the valley and the area that I left my remote I.T. job to serve as the Deputy Clerk for the Town of Paonia and purchased our home. The reason for that is that I have always felt great about serving in the community I reside in that has been beneficial to me, my family, and the valley. The more I served, the better I felt about what I was doing and about myself. When the opportunity arose to serve on the NFPPRD, a fantastic organization, I jumped at the opportunity. I hope to continue to provide a level of experience and professionalism that benefits the NFPPRD and the users of the facilities, parks and trails.
I look forward to serving this Board, this amazing valley, and its residents & visitors.
Best,
Ruben
